U.S. Embassy at the Muscat Book Fair
Muscat--The U.S. Embassy's booth at the 2009 Muscat Book Fair has been attracting fairgoers this year with a wide range of books for readers of all ages. The Embassy has participated in the Muscat Book Fair since its founding 14 years ago, and this year is offering books on U.S. culture, history, society, and politics, as well as classics of American literature and materials for those looking to improve their English-language skills.
On Wednesday, March 4, the Embassy's Deputy Chief of Mission, L. Victor Hurtado, visited the Book Fair to inspect the Embassy booth and to congratulate Waziruddin Khatib of the Public Affairs Section, who coordinates the Embassy's annual participation in the Fair. "Reading is the keystone of education," said Mr. Hurtado, "and the Muscat Book Fair is an excellent way make sure the Omani reading public is aware of the Embassy's commitment to helping enhance literacy and education here in the Sultanate".
