U.S. Embassy Announces New Telephone Number and Online Resources

Beginning Wednesday, July 4, 2007, the U.S. Embassy in Muscat will have new telephone numbers.  The Embassy's former main number (24-698-989) will not remain in service, but will provide callers with the new number for a limited period only.

Callers wishing to reach the Embassy should note the new permanent number:  (968) 24-643-400.

Detailed information on consular and visa services (including all requirements for applying for tourist and other short-visit visas, as well as full information on services for U.S. citizens in Oman) is available from the Embassy's website, in both English and Arabic, at oman.usembassy.gov.  Consular queries can also be submitted via e-mail, to consularmuscat@state.gov.

The Embassy website is a useful resource for a wide range of other information regarding the Embassy's work in Oman as well as other U.S.-related material, including outreach programming via the Middle East Partnership Initiative; Educational Advising for students in Oman interested in studying in the United States; and both long- and short-term exchange activities for students, academics, and others, including the Fulbright, Humphrey, and International Visitors Leadership Programs.

For more information on the U.S. Commercial Service office and services in Oman, visit its website at buyusa.gov/oman.
