Schedule an Appointment
Step 4: Schedule an Appointment
All non-immigrant visa applicants, including for tourism, business, or other temporary stays, require an appointment for an interview. We cannot accept walk-in visa applicants.
To request an appointment, please visit our non-immigrant visa appointment website.
Only visa applicants with appointments will be allowed into the Embassy. Please ask your family members, friends, or colleagues NOT applying for a visa not come to the Embassy. To make an appointment, please have the following information available:
Complete name as it appears in your passport
Desired interview date (we recommend the interview be well in advance of intended travel date)
Barcode Number from your DS-160 electronic visa application
Local contact telephone number or email address
Once you have completed the visa appointment process, you will be prompted to print a receipt page. Please print and bring this receipt page with you to your interview. If you do not bring your receipt page, you will not be allowed to enter the U.S. Embassy for your interview.
Expedited and Emergency Appointments
Medical or Humanitarian Emergencies:
If you need to travel to the United States for a medical or humanitarian emergency, please call 24-64-3400 and ask for the Consular Section.
If you need to apply for an F, M, or J category visa, please schedule an appointment as described above. However, if there are no appointment times available soon enough for you to travel to your studies, please send us an email at ConsularMuscat@state.gov with the subject “Student appointment expedited request.”
Some student visa applications require additional administrative processing. To avoid possible delays, you may apply up to 120 days before the start date listed on your I-20.
If you need to apply for a B1 visa for urgent business travel, please schedule an appointment as described above. However, if there are no appointment times available soon enough for you to conduct your business, please send us an email at ConsularMuscat@state.gov with the subject “Urgent business appointment expedited request.”
If you are a large group that needs to apply for any type of visa, please send us an email at ConsularMuscat@state.gov with the subject “Group appointment request.”
