Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Programs

The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) was established to support economic, political, and educational reform efforts in the Middle East and champion opportunity for all people of the region, especially women and youth.
All expenses for MEPI programs, including airfare and accommodations, are funded by the U.S. Department of State. Currently, two MEPI programs are open for application:

1. The Middle East Entrepreneur Training in the U.S. (MEET U.S.)

The goal of MEET is to assist promising executives, managers and entrepreneurs in realizing their aspirations to build successful, growing enterprises that will contribute to economic growth and community well being in the Middle East. The training consists of two separate programs, both of which take place in San Diego, California.

The first training program is a two-week program designed for senior executives in growth-oriented companies from a range of industries. Participants in this program must have over 10 years of business experience with a demonstrated record of community involvement.

The second training program is a series of three-week courses focused on younger emerging leaders in two specific industries: a) information, communication, and technology; b) business services. Participants in this program must have 5 to 10 years of business experience with a demonstrated record of community involvement.

2. Legal and Business Fellowship Program (LBFP)

LBFP will provide women opportunities to learn management, business, and legal skills through a combination of advanced study and internships at top U.S. businesses and law firms.  It seeks to help participating women develop their management, business, and legal skills while gaining experience in the U.S. business environment.

Participants will be enrolled in a four-week business or legal academic program, after which they will be placed in five-month internships with large companies and law firms across the United States.

To be eligible for BIP, applicants must:
