There is currently no need to make an appointment for an interview. Information on how long it takes to obtain an interview appointment at other U.S. embassies and consulates can be found at the State Department's Visa Wait Times website.

Visa application fees and, if applicable, issuance fees must be paid in cash at the time of application. The Consular Section accepts both U.S. dollars and Omani rials.

If a visa is approved, it can normally be picked up in two consular work days However, additional factors, such as the need for special clearances, incomplete applications, and fraud investigations may influence the processing of individual cases. Accordingly, the Consular Section recommends applying for your visa earlier rather than later.
