Opportunities for U.S. Companies in Oman’s Downstream Industrial Development
The Takamul team will share plans for major upcoming projects in various sectors for a live and virtual audience of American businesspeople. Takamul is working on a list of petrochemical greenfield projects in the magnitude of $300M – $1BN. Takamul is particularly interested in seeking American partners for developing Polypropylene, Methanol, Benzene and other petrochemical downstream projects, along with Steel, Copper, and Aluminum value-adding projects. While Takamul’s focus is on local joint ventures, the company can invest outside Oman if an opportunity directly complements a project in Oman. Beyond investment partnerships, cooperation with Takamul can include selling equipment, technology, and consulting and engineering services.

We Believe in the Power of Innovation Ecosystems to Uplift the Human Condition
Welcome to the Global Innovation Summit (www.innosummit.com) on February 17-19, 2014. It is a conference in Silicon Valley on how to foster the growth of innovation ecosystems. The event seeks to catalyze systemic, sustainable innovation across organizations, communities, and countries. It is part of Global Innovation Week which is consortium of 16 leading groups throughout the Bay Area that have agreed to co-host affiliated activities related to innovation ecosystems.
The mission is to make geography irrelevant to innovation. With a belief that every innovator deserves a fighting chance to develop their ideas, build their enterprises, and impact the world by creating new solutions to great challenges. The inaugural event saw more than 400 delegates from 49 countries. They are anticipating exponential growth this year. The diverse stakeholders include: entrepreneurs, inventors, policymakers, business executives, social impact actors, investors, academics, professionals, artists, economic developers, and many others.
The overall goal of the Summit is to enable the development of ecosystems that support innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs inorder to generate jobs, create wealth, and stimulate economic growth in both developed and developing countries. To do so, the event seeks to: (1) provide opportunities for "innovation ecosystem builders" from around the world to connect, interact, and share, (2) teach insights on what makes innovation ecosystems thrive, (3) give practitioners new tools to foster systemic, sustainable innovation across their organizations and communities, and (4) design and create prototype innovation ecosystem solutions for real-world problems during the Summit itself.
The four major themes for the Summit are: design, capital, technology, and megatrends. The event will feature expert speakers in each of these areas, but the format will be primarily hands-on, informal, and interactive. The vast majority of the speaker sessions will take place without a formal stage, and none will involve tedious presentations. Instead, sessions will be primarily unscripted, casual, and in-the-round, to foster a highly engaged discussion.
For more information on the event and to receive an invitation visit www.innosummit.com. I hope to see you there. It promises to be a thought-provoking few days.
